Residing in the center of the space station is the most powerful man-made power source ever created. The Arc Core was created specifically to be the main generation of power for the massive space station, this arc reactor is capable of generating approximately 40 gigawatts of energy and perpetually power itself over a course of about 30-40 years non-stop.
The room itself was designed with the single purpose of cooling. The massive space, and the ring like structure provides such cooling properties as so the core remains at an ideal temperature even during peak proficiency. The large channels that the core sits in are deep enough to provide enough space for heat to dissipate from the surface of the core.
Upon entering the room you are immediately struck by the overwhelming light naturally produced from the core. It's blue hue is actually used as the main light source throughout the station. Being channeled in gel like tubes -- every street light, lamp post, and even residential lights -- all emanate from this reactor core. An amazing feat many didn't think possible. With the advent of the gel tubes, the transmission of power became a non-energy losing system. It is the perfect system, as the energy moves through the tube it is propelled by the gel medium, in a type of reaction of it's own (similar to the core's own arc reaction) the energy transits through and actually creates heat. It is this heat that is made, that produces the light.
Aside from producing the perfect light, the core has become known as a natural relaxer in the daily lives of the station's residents. Every second the core is active, it produces a slight humming sound, that as it is transmitted through all the gels, those mini reactions also produce sound as a type of by-product with the heat. In every single house, skyscraper, and store, can be heard the calming hum of the core. Generally tho during the busy and loud day of life on the station you cannot hear the hum over the noise of people and vehicles, but after night fall, in a quiet place, you can hear the scintillating sound.

This is the space station the human race escaped to after the destruction of the majority of the Earth's surface in a freak accident. The station is the home to millions of surviving humans, as well as 14 different governments now collectively referred to as the "League".
